On May 29, students from all grades will be given the opportunity to compete in the Triathlon. A triathlon is a series of biking, canoeing, and running. Competing in a triathlon takes a great deal of physical strength and fitness. For the triathlon at WAHS, student have the choice of competing in a group of five, four, three, two, or even by themselves which is considered an “Ironman.” Students will travel to Promise Land State Park on that Friday, and they will be going through a six-mile bike course, one mile canoe/kayak, and a six-mile run (can be split into 2 three-mile increments). Qualifying for running, biking, and canoeing has been going on for weeks many students have qualified while many students are also grandfathered after participating last year. In the morning, Freshman and Sophomores will compete on the course while Juniors and Seniors will compete in the afternoon. To all those participating on May 29, the Paupack Press would like to wish you good luck!
