With graduation less than a month away, Kristian Nistad is reflecting on his previous 12 years at Wallenpaupack in appreciation for how many oppurtunities this school has given him and how much it prepared him to embark on his future.
Kristian is an active member in many of the extracurricular activities in the high school, including WAHS Players, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Show Choir, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Scholastics Team, National Honors Society Executive Council, and Class of 2026 Treasurer, along with many PMEA music festivals. He is beyond grateful for how navigating every one of these programs has shaped his character and dedication. He particularly enjoys the family aspect of these clubs and loves to perform onstage.
When Kristian finds a rare minute to himself between all these activities, he enjoys watching baseball, hanging out with his dog, and playing video games.
Once Kristian graduates, he plans to study vocal performance and mathematics. He hopes to one day have a career in either the music or math fields. His dream occupation is to be a singer in a world-renowned choir. He would like to thank Mr. Granquist and Mrs. Neenan for being two of his most impactful mentors, both academically and personally.
In previous years, Kristian struggled to find a core group of friends. He always had friends within his activities but never would see them outside of school. He is grateful to have found a group of people this year who love and support him.
As Kristian departs into his future, he leaves us with these words.
“There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres.” -Pythagoras
Wallenpaupack wishes the best of luck for Kristian’s future and hopes he finds success in every aspect of his life.
