Wallenpaupack’s varsity field hockey team faced two challenging opponents this past week, hosting Wyoming Valley West on Wednesday, October 7, before traveling to Abington Heights on Friday, October 9.
The Buckhorns opened the week under the stadium lights against Wyoming Valley West, falling 8-0. Two days later, the team traveled to Abington Heights, where the matchup proved much closer. After a competitive game, the teams remained tied 1-1 through regulation and overtime, ending the contest in a draw.
Despite the challenging week, individual players continued to be recognized through the team’s “Game Ball” tradition. The player of the game receives a ball designated at the beginning of the season, with the opportunity to personalize it with decorations.
Following the matchup against Wyoming Valley West, freshman Charlotte Regenski was selected to receive the Game Ball. She had the opportunity to add her own decorations to the ball in recognition of her achievement.
Congratulations to Charlotte on her recognition as the Buckhorns continue their season!
