On Monday, October 5th, the University of Scranton invited WAHS alumni and other local schools, to visit and tour their campus, while learning about their diverse programs and the academic environment. The visit was from 9:00 A.M to 1:30 P.M, with eight high school students attending. They were shown the University of Scranton’s “Harry and Jeanette Weinburg Memorial Library.” The library contains 5 floors, all offering group-study reservable rooms and technology like computers and laptops for students to use. They were additionally shown into different departments to observe Scranton’s small college class sizes that ranged from 20 to 35 students, differing from the usual large lecture halls. Students were also shown into a college dorm room to see living spaces and discovered different housing options. Finally, students learned about campus safety and tuition costs. This was a great experience for high school students to observe real college students and campus life.
