On Wednesday, October 14, the WAHS Marching Band attended a Marching Band Cavalcade hosted by North Pocono High School. A cavalcade is a showcase of local marching bands, where each group has the opportunity /perform their field show for an audience of peers, friends, and family. It is also an opportunity for our band to see groups perform that they might not see during football games. There were 10 local bands in attendance at the event. Participating schools were Carbondale Area, Crestwood, Lakeland, Mid-Valley, North Pocono, Pocono Mountain East, Riverside, Valley View, Wallenpaupack Area, and Western Wayne.
Each group received an award in recognition of their performance. Our school’s band received the “Most Polished Performance” award. This award went to the group that demonstrated the most precision in musical and visual performance. The event was a great opportunity for students to meet with other marching band members and perform with an audience that fully understands everything that goes into a marching band. After months of practicing and performing, this was an exciting experience for everyone. Congratulations to the members of the band on an outstanding performance!
