Next week, the WAHS players will perform their fall play, The Neverland Project, by Stephen Gregg. The production involves 37 students in grades 10-12. The play follows the classic story of Peter Pan, but from the perspective of Wendy and her brother John. Throughout the show, you’ll see the characters recount their story through interviews and reliving memories to remember what really happened when they went to Neverland. While the show is based on a classic children’s story, this show is exciting for all ages. Younger audience members will enjoy the magical and energetic characters, and adults will enjoy the humorous writing and entertaining scenarios that are twists on the classic. The Fall Play Director, Mrs. Hoffmann, said, “The Peter Pan story has a great appreciation for youthfulness. While we all age and grow up, we can always escape the mundane chores of daily life and find time to be kids at heart.” She hopes audiences will get this message from the production.
Show dates are November 5, 6, and 7 at 7:00 pm and November 8 at 2 pm. The performance will be in the High School Black Box Theatre. Admission is $5, and all seating is general admission. Senior citizens (65+) are free. There will be no reservations for this performance due to the limited seating space. Ticket sales will begin one hour before the start of the show. It is recommended to arrive early to guarantee seats. If you have any questions regarding tickets or performance information, please email [email protected].
Students have been rehearsing for this show since the beginning of the school year and are excited to bring the magical Neverland story to life as you’ve never seen before. This is a production you won’t want to miss.
