Wallenpaupack’s Field Hockey team is a young team with an impressive record. So far, the girls have gone 8 and 1, only taking one tough defeat to Wilkes Barre Area all while having 6 underclassmen in the starting lineup. Mrs. Becky Newcomer is their head coach, and she is the founder of The Pack, Wallenpaupack’s youth field hockey program. Their game on Tuesday, September 16m against Greater Nanticoke Area was themed “Youth Field Hockey Night” recognizing all the participants of The Pack. They got to cheer for the players while the varsity captains Ziomara Gilmore, Avery Fullum, and Grace Lake led the team on the field. With all participants, coaches, and families of The Pack alongside the student section in the stands, this game was a remarkable success for our girls’ team and our youth program.
