Lily Mancino, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, is someone who strives to lead with care and consideration for others. Throughout her high school years, she has been actively involved in the National Honor Society and SADD, while also dedicating herself to athletics. As a captain of both the basketball team and the softball team, Lily has embraced leadership roles that reflect her commitment, teamwork, and ability to bring out the best in those around her. While she finds it hard to choose between the two sports, she values each for the unique experiences and connections they’ve given her.
Among her favorite high school memories are the moments spent on the court and the field with her teammates. Whether during intense games or practices, those experiences have been meaningful because of the friendships she’s built. Being surrounded by her teammates has always pushed her to grow as both an athlete and an individual.
After graduation, Lily plans to attend Bloomsburg University where she will major in business administration with a focus on management. Inspired by her mother, she hopes eventually to take over and expand her family business, Lake Region Electronics. Watching her mom successfully balance work and family life has shaped Lily’s goals, motivating her to pursue a career that offers both flexibility and opportunity. She hopes this path will allow her to travel while maintaining a stable and fulfilling career.
Like many students, Lily faced challenges in discovering who she truly is. She found that understanding herself, her friendships, and her future goals was more difficult than she expected. However, these experiences helped her grow and discover the things that matter most to her.
Looking ahead, Lily envisions a stable life, working alongside her mom, growing the business, and starting a family of her own. She hopes to be remembered as someone who always cared for others and looked out for those around her, no matter who they were.
