The annual ARC Color Run will return to the Wallenpaupack Area District on Friday, May 15th, bringing together students, families, staff, and community members for an evening of fun all while supporting a meaningful cause.
The event will begin near the soccer fields by the North Primary School. Registration opens at 4:30 PM, the race starts at 5:30 PM, and the course closes at 7:00 PM. Organizer Ms. Okun shared that nearly 400 runners have already signed up, making this the largest Color Run yet!
The Color Run raises money for Dyberry Day Camp, which provides summer experiences for children with special needs. The camp helps students build confidence, social skills, friendships, and independence all in one safe environment. All proceeds remain local and benefit children in the community.
Participants are encouraged to wear white or light-colored clothing since colored powder will be used throughout the running course. Beside the run itself, the event will feature music, face painting, tattoos, food and refreshment stations.
The event is organized by the “Color Run Crew,” including Bridget Donovan, Devin Okun, Sarah Toigo, Erin Zubrickas, and new planning member Alexa Mihalik.
Local organizations and businesses supporting the event include:
· Tafton Fire and Ambulance Company
· Theo Zumpone from Black Ops Sound.
· Super Duper
· Woodloch
· Watering Hole
· KC Pepper
· Honesdale Golf Club
· Lake Region IGA
· Honesdale McDonalds
*Registration the day-of will also be available for $30.
