Nora Warner, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, is a dedicated musician, leader, and passionate advocate for the performing arts. She is involved in numerous activities, including Concert Choir, Show Choir, Chamber Choir, Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Northeastern Youth Wind Ensemble, WAHS Players, Paupack Press, and Student Ambassadors. Outside of school, Nora enjoys reading and traveling, and she plays several instruments, including the oboe, alto saxophone, and piano, in addition to singing.

Among her many extracurricular activities, Nora’s favorite groups are those involving the performing arts. Through these programs, she enjoys collaborating with friends to create performances they can be proud of while developing her skills as a musician, communicator, and leader. She has also taken on several leadership roles, serving as a marching band section leader for one year, drum major for two years, and a member of both the choir council and NHS executive council.

After graduation, Nora plans to attend college to major in Music Education. She hopes to pursue a career in music teaching and performing, inspired by her parents, who are both educators. Growing up, Nora learned the importance of helping others and creating welcoming, supportive environments. She especially credits her father, a music teacher, with teaching her valuable lessons about organization, humility, and creativity while giving her insight into the world of music education.

One of Nora’s proudest accomplishments is becoming the first Wallenpaupack student to attend the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Festival for both band (during her sophomore year) and choir (during her junior year). After months of preparation, auditions, and performances, she had the opportunity to work alongside talented students from across Pennsylvania who shared her passion for music. These experiences strengthened her desire to pursue music as a career and allowed her to bring new knowledge and inspiration back to her school.

Throughout her time at Wallenpaupack, Nora has made many meaningful memories, including attending football games, participating in music theory classes, and traveling to Italy, Canada, and Washington, D.C., with her music groups. As she finishes her senior year, she hopes to remain active in her activities while sharing her knowledge and helping others grow.

In the future, Nora hopes to pass on the positive experiences music has given her, regardless of which path she ultimately takes within music education. She hopes to be remembered as a kind, organized, and enthusiastic leader who encourages others and genuinely wants to see everyone succeed.
