On January 11 and 12, symphonic band members, Angelo Cresta, Breaden Caputo, Zachary Jantzi, Nathan Freethy, Kristian Nistad, Olivia Tighe, Hunter Sassala, Sara Kovacs, Rachel Van Louvender, Ty Mazzga, and Jewel Dickerman participated in District 9 Pennsylvanian Music Educators Associations Annual Band Concert at Blue Ridge High School in New Milford. For students to earn an invitation, there was a pre-audition submitted online. All these members were required to prepare two musical excerpts. They were also required to play scales. After all students submitted their pre-audition, they had to wait and hear if they made it to the district band. After all these talented students learned they made it, they had the chance to audition for Regional Band. Regional Band takes up to the top fifty percent of students from District Band. The students who are advancing to Regional Band are Angelo Cresta on flute, Braedon Caputo on alto saxophone, Zachary Jantzi on alto saxophone, Olivia Tighe on French horn, and Hunter Sassala on trombone. This is an amazing accomplishment for all students who attended the festival last Thursday and Friday. Congratulations to our Wallenpaupack Area High School band members for going to District Band and good luck to the students who advanced to Regional Band.
