On Thursday, April 30, the Wallenpaupack boys and girls track and field teams raced at the annual Jordan Relays hosted at the Scranton Memorial Stadium, and our boys won overall, making them 3A Champions. Although this meet has a variety of relays, the main three are still there for the seed times, and that is the 400 relay, 3,200 relay, and1,600 relay. If the teams raced good, which they did, they would gain good spots for Leagues and Districts.

The athletes were excited for this occasion, as both the boys and girls recently became division two league champions after an undefeated season. The team was ready to race, as some athletes were put in completely different races than they usually race. At the end of the night, the results were in. The girls 3,200 relay, which consisted of June Brown, Jessie Gallagher, Isabella Maslowska, and Belle Wisner, won first place with a time of 10:00.7, and the boys, which held Jordan Bermudez, Aiden Janowicz, Orson Whitehouse, and Dawid Mrowka, also won first place with a winning time of 8:18.86. The ladies 1,600 relay, with Violet Hildebrand, Jessie Gallagher, Isabella Maslowska, and June Brown, also got first place with a time of 4:12.69, along with the boys, holding Bryce Pagano, Aiden Janowicz, Izael Rodrigues, and Dawid Mrowka, receiving a time of 3:24.40, gaining them the first-place spot.

Although the boys won, the ladies had a different story. The girls were extremely close, as they came second by only three points. With the boys and girls both receiving good times at Jordans, they have a huge chance of racing well, at leagues and districts. Leagues will be on Tuesday, May 5, and Districts are on Monday. May 11, and Tuesday, May 12, with all three races being held at the Scranton Memorial Stadium. Make sure you come out and support the Buckhorns.
